Hi, I know Urelle is an antisposmatic/antiseptic. Sounds ridiculous but I don't know when to take it???? Does it help w/ pain? Or should I only take it if I have frequency/urgency? Sometimes I have pain w/o frequency. :loco:
It doesn't seem to do much for pain when I take one but am I just not taking enough?? Should I be taking it every 4 hours or something for the pain to go away?? I'm so totally clueless for how to use this med--can someone make sense of what its supposed to be doing since its expensive and I don't want to throw out what may work only b/c I don't know what its supposed to do.
Thanks and hugs,
Ophelia:hi:

What directions did your doctor give you? Typically it is written for 1 tablet four times per day. Urelle treats bladder spasms, burning, and pain. In a flare, or with a UTI, I take 4 per day. Right now I'm managing on 2 a day.

Hi, Cathy,
She wrote the script as 2-4/day for a total of 90 for the month. I think I'm probably just not taking enough then. I just assumed if one didn't work then two wouldn't either and since it seems to make me drowsy and sluggish I tend not to want to take it mid day. I think it does help the frequency and maybe my pain is just more than Urelle would be able to help. The last time I took it, it seemed like I had more burning, like that really uncomfortable UTI feeling. On the other hand, maybe the burning would have been worse if I didn't take the Urelle.
Is it possible for Urelle to make things worse? The nurse at the urogyn's office said she never had anyone say they had a problem w/ it. Of course, she says that about everything I question. Everyone can't tolerate ALL the medication prescribed--that's just ridiculous.
thanks for your feedback, I'll have to try more than one next time and pay very careful attention. This is just crazy at times.

There was a time when I thought the Urelle made things worse, so I quit using it altogether. Whenever I'd get a UTI, the nurse would always say to get on the Urelle to decrease the misery of the symptoms until the antibiotic kicked in. Sometimes I would and sometimes I wouldn't. I've been taking it daily now for about 18 months, and have been very grateful for the help it's been to me.

Thanks, Cathy,
I was going to PM you but I don't know how to work that yet. :loco: I wish I would have had Urelle when I was younger dealing w/ those awful UTI symptoms watching the clock until the antibiotic kicked in!!! I'm going to see if it helps me to sleep at night since it does make me drowsy some. I'm glad to see that you have taken it for 18 months w/o a problem. That is real good to know.
hugs,
