I was wondering if anyone here has had success with Elmion instillations. I am pregnant and can't take it orally, so my urologists has recommended instillations.
I have not had the Elmiron instillations, but have heard several others here share very good experiences with it. Good luck! :)
I have been on them for 5 weeks. I am definately noticing an improvement. Good luck.

I have done 3 so far. The second week I showed some improvement but this week has been rough again. It's really to soon for me to tell.
The one thing I can tell you is they are a lot easier to do than DMSO. I had 32 DMSO treatments in the last 20 years and they were rough on me. These are not like that at all.
Email me privately if you want to talk more about it.

Can someone tell me what an Elmiron Instillations is? Also, what is the difference between Elmiron Instillations and DMSO?
I have been on Elmiron 4 1/2 month. The pain and symtems did subside quite a bit, but now I have to stop taking Elmiron orally due to side effects. I want to know about other treatments that help as much as Elmiron did. (just in case the "killer pain" comes back.)
The reason I am asking...I called my doctor and the nurse returned my call. So I tell her what is going on and she says stop the Elmiron. When I asked if there are other treatments she said no!
What's the deal?
Hi. I'm curious what your side effects are.
I have had about 10 elmiron installations, 2x/weekly. I have noticed an improvement but I'm still suffering.

I think what the nurse meant by "there is nothing else" is that Elmiron is the only medication for IC. I hope that is what she meant.
DMSO and Elmiron installations are preformed the same way. What they put in the catheter is different. When they do DMSO they usually put DMSO in and heprin, lydocaine, etc. Different doctors will put different medications in.
My Elmiron installations consist of Elmiron only. It is very new but is showing promise.
