View Full Version : Is it possible to have PFD without a lot of pelvic pain?

I have had some digestive issues (mostly constipation) for four years. To be honest, I have never gone to the doctor for my digestive issues because I have no health insurance and my problems are never so bad that they affect my ability to do things. I have always thought I probably have IBS because it runs in my family.
Then, a little over two months ago, I got a UTI. I was given antibiotics and of course, seems like everyone has the same story, the infection went away but the symptoms didn't. I have read that PFD can sometimes arise after an infection (and combined with my history of digestive issues) I wondered if maybe PFD could be my problem, instead of IC. I wonder if my infection caused me to tense up those muscles so much and now maybe I am unable to relax them.
I have some pain once in a while in my pelvic area but usually not too much. Is pain usually always consistent with PFD?
I just have the urge to urinate sometimes when I don't actually have to. I also get some tingling/tickling/discomfort in my urethra. I guess this sensation could be spasms? I am not sure.
I usually do not awake at all during the night to urinate and in fact, when I wake up in the morning, I usually feel okay. Maybe this is because my muscles are still relaxed?

I am not sure. I know that a lot of these symptoms also point to IC so its gonna be hard for you guys to give me opinions but I would like some feedback. I know you're not medical professionals or anything but any insight into PFD would be helpful.
I have an appointment with a urologist next month.

Hi Baaaby!

The best link I ever found to PFD was posted by Katrina. Thanks to her again!!!!

I hope you find it helpful, too. It should give you a better understanding of what exactly is PFD.
