Hi there! I'm from Michigan, but I'm down in the metro-Detroit area. Right now I'm out of state on vacation, yet am usually around if you'd like to send a message or something. I hope you are doing well. Good to see you here.

Take care,
Jennifer

I live in Huntington Woods which is near Royal Oak and I have family in Traverse County (Acme), but I only go up about 2-3 times a year due to work schedule. I sure could use some sunshine right now. The last week around here has been cool and grey outside, hopefully this weekend clears up. I think my mood would be improved by a little sun!! Lisa

Wow, I wasn't expecting so many Michigan-ites on the forum! Too cool! I'm going in for laproscopy, hysterscopy, D&C, ablasion, and bladder hydro/cysto on Wednesday. So, I might be off for a couple of days. We need to keep this going though! Maybe we can have a big Michigan ICers get-together one of these days!

I'm not from Michigan, but my husband was "imported" from there. ;)

We actually live down in Northern Indiana, but I cannot tell you how good it makes me feel just to know there are a handful of people living near me who know what IC is like!

Hi All,

I live in South West Michigan. We have a local support group here also. We also have a great nurse that works in a URO's office who has done research on IC for 15 years. I feel very fortunate to have her. Our support group has quite a few members. It meets every 3rd Wednesday at Lakeland Reginal Hospital, during the fall and winter months. In St.Jospeh, mi.

Oh you take care - you West Siders, lol, seem to get hit harder than we do over here on the East side! ;) Should be interesting anyway - we're supposed to get 2-4 tonight, and 6-7 inches tomorrow - plus wind gusts up to 45, yikes! :) Batten down the hatches! ;)

Well, we made it through the storm. No school anywhere. The roads were extremely slick today. Oh what fun!!!

Okay, everyone --- I'm officially not complaining about Oregon rain for at least today! :)

I've been looking at all the snow all over the country --- I grew up in Nebraska and am very glad to be away from blizzards and snow.

Sending extra warm hugs to all of you,
Donna

It's better today...........the sun is shining! My poor dog is getting too old to go pee-pee in these temperatures. I don't dare give him pads to go on--it took ten years to potty train him in the first place! ;-) He is a bichon.....I may just have to let him get long and shaggy this year.

I can remember winters not too long ago when we didn't have this much snow all winter! And we got it in two days!

Oh yeah, the roads up here are just starting to sort of get back to normal, geesh. Oh well, at least it looks "wintry" for Christmas, although I can still do without snow, lol. :)

Heyy-

I recently have been going through a relapse. Trying to see if any in michigan has found a good doctor. Im currently seeing a Henry Ford Doctor.
I have had the bladder distention twice.
not gonna lie after it is very very very painful the first couple of days.

yet if you can get through the painful urination during these couple of days you'll be pleasantly surprised for a while as to how long you can hold your urine and the pain goes away.
i also am on Vistaril and Atarax.

I also gave -up thongs...tight jeans.. sometimes all jeans : (

But i guess its "better"

Yet lately im having the painful urination, urgency. its pretty sad and depressing.

Im trying to see if theres been any new treatment in michigan that is something worth trying.

please write back if you have a good general doctor and/or urologist. somewhere in the south east area..[

I am first time user of this site. I joined to see if anyone is having some of the bizarre issues like I am having. I too am Michigander and live in Wixom MI.. I originally was diagnosed in my mid 20's and then my IC went into remission and now it is back 20+ years later. I am going on my 8th month. I was getting better, but now I have bizarre joint pain issues. If it is at all possible my tailbone feels like it pops out of place and then back in. This usually happens in my sleep and I wake up in the morning in terrible pain. I also am having the same issue with my shoulder. I was in terrible pain for 4 weeks. It woke me up in the middle of the night when it happened with a horrible burning pain. Has anyone had these symptoms? I take Elmiron and that seams to be helping my bladder pain, however I still do take pain medication once in a while especially when these joint issues happen.
