So this weekend we got an offer on our house. We've been trying to sell it for probably eight months now. Last June my husband got a job (after being off work for a year!) working in a city about 70 miles south of where we live. We had the house sold at Christmas and the buyer backed out.
This offer is solid and not at all nitpicky like the last one. We did a slight counteroffer and are waiting to hear from them. The only drawback is they need us out by July 31. Oh, and I'm seven months pregnant! So, it will be a bit crazy. We have found a house in the other city that we like.
We are just praying for God's will to be done. The offer is definitely encouraging!

That's great! And if you have to, you could put your things in storage and live somewhere temporary for a little while.
Keep us posted.

Very true. I have been checking into extended stay hotels or apartments. If we know it will be a short time, we can stay with family. We'd just like to be settled into a house by the time the baby gets here in three months if we can. Taking it one day at a time!

How wonderful! I hope this all works out smoothly for you.
Has your husband been commuting that 70 miles to his job since last June?

Yeah, my husband has been commuting the 70 miles each way since last June. We are in Indiana, so the winter was really tricky. It will be nice to be within 15 miles of his work!
And we found out this evening that they have accepted our counteroffer!!! :) We are excited and just hope everything goes well with the inspection. We think it should. Now we are seriously figuring out packing and moving by the end of July. Should be crazy!

They've accepted your counter-offer! That's Great! :woohoo:
Boy, I don't envy you on the packing & moving though! It's a lot of work and even more so with your July 31 deadline! I hope you have friends/family to help?

Thanks! We do have a great support system of friends and family around to help, especially since I'm limited on doing as much as I normally could since I'm seven months pregnant. For now we're just taking it one day at a time and trying not to get too overwhelmed and stressed.

Maybe I can take some of my days off and come over and help you pack and/or move! I get time off during the week and every other weekend.
And in case some of you didnt know...Stacey and I are meeting in person Thursday! (in a few hours!) Cant wait! I only live 3-4 hours from her, and my aunt and uncle live very near where she will be moving to. Im staying with them right now.:woohoo:

I appreciate the offer, Kim. I just might take you up on that. I rode to work with hubby this morning and we were talking about how crazy it will be to get everything packed and moved in so short a time.
We found out yesterday that our inspection is next Thursday and it's with a different inspector than we had before. The other inspector was so hard to deal with. We are feeling much better. I will feel even better once everything is finalized.
