Hi all, just got my CMG done last Tuesday. The doc said it seems to be textbook IC and I am getting laparascopic and the bladder-camera done in a couple of weeks. Since I got the CMG, my pain has gotten worse. Burning and feels like I have a needle stuck in "down there". Cramping and pain in belly is worse too. Doc gave me pyridium which really seemed to help the first day but it's not helping so much now. I have a call out to the doctors office and am waiting for a call back to see if there's anything that will help more. Any ideas?

Have you tried putting something cold "down there"? Like a bag of frozen veggies or, if you have one, a cold pack. You could also put some ice cubes in a zip up type of plastic bag and then wrap the bag in a thin towel and place it on you, also.

Cramps usually respond to heat. Do you have a heating pad or one of those grain filled sock-like things that you put in the microwave to heat up?

Thanks for the advice. I've been living on my heating pad the last few days. It helps as long as it's there. I'm going to try the cold pack when I'm feeling a little braver. Doc finally got ahold of me and called in vicodin for me. I hate taking those, but I took 1/2 of one and it got me through this afternoons baseball games(my son plays and I did not do the driving). I can't wait to get the rest of my diagnostics done with so I can really take care of this thing. Hugs to all!
