Mom told me when she came home. I didn't even turn on TV when I got home. No one on the train said anything about Michael Jackson's death. I thought that mom was joking. I did turn on to our local news around 6pm and sure enough he has passed away. I'm so sad! He was few years younger than my parents. :(

He was very young but he had been dealing with a lot and I would not be surprised if it was more that what was reported. I am sorry he died and sorrry for his familly and three children.

I'm so upset about this! I love Michael Jackson. I hope that his three young children will be well cared for :(

It is so very strange to think that he is dead. He has been a part of the music scene for so many years. I loved his early stuff with the Jackson 5. I remember very well the evening his Thriller Video was played on MTV for the 1st time. It was amazing and so much fun to watch. :dance::dance::dance:

I know i've already posted to this thread, however this mans music has a special place in my heart, one song in particular (You Are Not Alone); it has helped me cope with a huge loss in my life. It meant even more after I had a very happenstance very brief encounter with him a few years ago.
When I heard the news yesterday afternoon that he had passed my heart just sank. What a tragic loss to so many people---the world, the music industry, artists all over the world who were directly influenced by his talents.

I remember when he first came on the scene with the Jackson 5, -I thought he was wonderful! My parents said, "Sure, just wait,..in a couple years his voice will change and you'll never hear of him again." :lmao:

I am saddened by this loss, and my heart aches for his children. I am also saddened by the media people who are taking this opportunity to drag him through the mud one last time before he's put in the ground. I don't know what was true or not true in his personal life. I only know for certain that he was an exceptional writer, performer, and one-of-a-kind artist, and for that -I will miss him.
