Everybody keep your fingers crossed and say some prayers--I have to have a nuclear medicine test done tomorrow because they think I might have a tumor on my parathyroid(which would explain the ever returning stones). I work with my doc, so she told me to take the day off, but my first line supervisor is not happy that I am missing another day. FIddlesticks--and I'm still in a horrible flair due to the UTI...added a short course of Ambien for sleep. Thanks for letting me vent.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the awesome support. That supervisor of mine is female(with all sorts of her own issues, I'll pray for her) and thinks that I am trying to get out of work for fun. The doctor that told me to take the day off and take some me time too is also her boss so if she hassles me too much...never make an Irish chick mad. My doc is a mom too and she said even if I just take a nap at home alone after the test it is better contorting myself across town to do it and work too. What a cool woman and mentor. I am doing ok though, my husband behaved himself this weekend(the prayers worked) and are you ready for this, after he comes back from Iraq I can quit working full time if I want. Thanks again everybody, will let you know how the test turns out.
Hugs,
Barb
PS Medical people are hardest on their own co workers because most of them think they know all.;)

Well, here goes---preliminary read of the scan is that I do have a tumor--it does involve the parathyroid and possibly some other structures too...also had some funniy areas on my spine and left shoulder too. Will get the final report in a few days. Kelly, thanks for the PM's...sorry I didn't reply sooner...it has been kind of a bummer day. The other bad news is that the area where I had my rectovaginal fistula repaired in 2001 has reopened and we don't know why. Just spontaneously opened today and was bleeding bad enough I had to have it packed rectally and vaginally. Needless to say, the IC isn't thrilled with the manipulation in that area, on top of my current UTI(which the reopened fistual probably contributed to also. I am doing pretty good, the pain is awful. On the other hand, there are people who have it far worse than I do and heck, I've made it this far, I will survive this too. The tumor appears benign by the way. Thanks for everybody's constant support and encouragement.
Hugs and a:kiss: ,
Barb
PS Just trying to see how many ICD-9 codes I can get behind my name at once(diagnosis codes that is):D

Still awaiting the results of the scan. As far as the bleeding, I have see an OB/GYN to see how bad I'm jacked up. The bleeding is still pretty bad--but hey worse things can happen. I made it to work packing and all.
