I have been going through rough times since last Nov. I broke my leg ended up having surgery. Of course, my bladder rebelled by spasming & pain levels increasing.:toilet: Going through DMSO treatment's without any relief after 6th round. When I take Sanctura, my airway narrows & bloodpressure drops. Vesicare & Enablex have the same chemical makeup. :help:I can handle a level 4, but the level 6 pain 24/7 is wearing me down.:tsk: I have pain medication to take but it's not cutting through the pain the spasm's are causing. I'm trying to be positive, to keep from being depressed which doesn't help. I'm one of the lucky ones to have many drug allergies. I pray daily a cure for all of us.

I understand med allergies, ugh. I found out a couple months ago that I am now allergic to an antibiotic I have taken successfully for YEARS for UTI's as I am allergic the the usual sulfa meds, ugh. It was a rush to the ER reaction, tongue swelling etc. I now carry an EpiPen, since they can't be "100%" sure what it was, but lay odds on the antibiotic.

Have you thought about talking to a pharmacist? I know mine is really really helpful when it comes to that stuff, and most times they are more up to date and aware of the drug's chemical makeups etc. It's at least worth a shot telling them what the trouble is and if they could recommend something different etc. I have even talked to my doctor during the last UTI to find a med for me that I could safely take etc, and she went all out in researching one for me that I most likely could take that was also safe for breastfeeding etc.

Good luck and sending positive thoughts your way! :)

Tracey is right --- and talk with your doctor about something to help with the spasms. There must be some medication out there that won't cause a reaction for you.

My husband was with me & said let's go to our pharmacist. He said all the spasm medications out there have the same or have some of the same chemical compounds. I see this Dr. to give my treatment's, my IC Dr. is 70 miles away, has told me he will keep researching to hopefully find something for me, it's just a struggle keeping your sanity. I appreciate the care & help the treatment Dr. is giving, he means well. He can call & converse or e-mail the other Dr. I just wish I lived closer to Iowa City, then I could see Dr. Kreder. I'll just keep my prayer's & good thought's going. Thank you for your information, it's well appreciated. Life is about changes nothing ever stays the same, just wish it could be to the better for all ICer's. If ever my pot of gold comes in, I definitely would help IC Research out.:smile tee

Can you tolerate relaxants like valium? It might help.

I agree with Donna - maybe think along a different line! There's bound to be something to help - it just might be something you'd expect or think of! ;) Don't give up trying that's for sure - sending positive thoughts your way!!!

Tracey
