Hi all- Last week I had a cystohydrodistention performed with a positive diagnosis of IC. My follow up is in one week when I will be given some options on treatment. I'm excited about joining this IC support network and have been reading many of your stories and experiences, dealing with IC on many different levels. Thanks to all of you for contributing and telling your stories. It really helps to know that I am not alone when dealing with IC and that there are other folks out there feeling the same pain and frustration as I.

Thank you...

:welcome: to the ICN, though I'm sorry we meet under these circumstances!

I hope whatever treatment route you & your doctor decide to try turns out to be the right one for you. Let us know how your follow-up goes!

Thank you all for the warm welcome to the IC support network. It has been a week now since I had been diagnosed with IC by hydrodistention. I'm not sure if it's my imagination or not, but my symptons seem to be abit less since the hydro. I have not been put on a treatment plan yet- that comes next week on my follow up visit to my UroGyn doctor. However, I have been following an IC diet for several months since I had the gut feeling that IC was what I had -strictly from the symptoms I have been experiencing.

In reference to Elmiron- is it true that there could be hairloss?

Also, I tend to feel more discomfort in the vulvar area than my lower pelvic area- anyone else feel this too?

Again- thanks again. look forwatd to continuous communication with all my fellow IC'ers...

It is very possible that the cysto/hydro helped. It has been known to do that. Some of us use this as a treatment.

Only a small percentage of people lose hair from taking Elmiron. If it does happen, it should stop if you decide to stop taking it. Some have even said that, when they decided to try it again, this side effect did not happen.
