So it had been a year since I saw a DR primarily for my IC. And as many of you have read it has been quite the roller coaster & thank you all for your support!

I saw a NP @ one of the top places for IC. I was given Singulair for my allergies (it seemed they were inflaming by bladder & Allegra and other things were not working for me)

Now except for the little bit of time I would take Elavil here and there when it got bad I was pretty much just suffering in painful urination & bladder spasms. I think it's time I realize it's OK to take medicine. (I was holistic for a while & did so many cleanses I didn't want to do this to myself again). But since I no longer follow that path I'm going to start listening to my doctors more and being more open minded.

She gave me some Urelle to try & Soma if I ever need it.

I was diagnosed with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction & will be beginning PT in 2 weeks. I hope I find some relief.

She suggested getting instillations since I am so sensitive to medications (Elmiron, etc) but I think I need to give myself a little bit of time with the PT b/f I go that route.

The next day when I went for my Lupron shot #3 (I had become such an emotional/moody wreck from this drug & I could never take any other medication w/ it b/c it made me so exhausted to begin with) I told the ob/gyn in between my tears & deep breaths that I didn't think this was the right drug for me. I think she understood where I was coming b/c she replied with, "In 4 more months you'll have no Endo but if this is going to make you crazy this isn't good". Anyways, haha, she put me on Yaz continuously (I already had the Laparoscopy to burn away the Endo & 2 months of Lupron so hopefully it's supressed).

I wish I had tried the Yaz in the first place but my doctor was all about this Lupron.

Is anyone else on Yaz? Kinda scared it's going to hurt the bladder, so please let me know if anyone has had success or problems with it (I was on Loestrin when all this began so I'm terried of BC)

The ob/gyn says I have to stop the Estrogen cream & vaginal pills now since my levels should shoot back up, but I'm waiting to hear from the specialist that put me on it b/f I do that.

I started the Yaz 2 days ago & I feel like I'm in a flare. The Urelle is helping. This could also be b/c my diet was not as strict as it was before, so I had been eating a little too much crap for 2 weeks. I'm trying not to freak out that it's the Yaz. Also I'm sure going from Lupron (menopause) to BC would make the hormones cause a flare?

Well I hope you all are doing well. I feel like I'm getting somewhere. & I feel like stopping the Lupron was a good idea. Even though it was OK for me for about 6 weeks, then it started hitting me hard. & idk if any of you have ever heard of it but it's a serious drug & you won't find many good things about it online.

Anyways, trying to get through this flare! Hope you all are feeling well!

I'm so glad you found somebody who can help you! And good luck with the flare. I just realized I couldn't do long drives without paying for it a bit. Was it far to go? I think diet cheating was more likely, though.

Yaz changed my life! My hormones had gone all out a whack, but I'm not in menopause, yet. It's such a low dosage that I'll start spotting if I miss one, and I usually get a day of so of spotting half way through the month, which is normal.

Hi.. I am 32 and have IC.. I guess I was diagnosed 3 years ago.. anyway.. I am on Yaz for my endometriosis.. I do watch my diet some.. I dont drink a lot of soda.. but I do have a cup of coffee in the morning and I eat whatever I want.. I can still tell if I have ate something bad.. but long story short Yaz has been a blessing.. it has made me feel normal again.. I tried getting off of it and was miserable again.. if you have any questions you can email me at stonerd77@yahoo.com

I was told yaz is the worst thing for ic. Even my oby gyn would not put me on that.

Did your doc say why? I have a script for it right now from my Uro/Gyn who is treating my bladder pain also.
