Bladder infection after delivery??

Ok...so on my other thread, I mentioned that my bladder was doing awesome (even though I was cathed like crazy in the hospital during labor & recovery). My son was born last week on June 3rd & when we can home from the hospital, my bladder was wonderful. But a day ago I started to feel some pain in the urethra & such. Didn't want to overlook it & toss it up to being an IC flare though...went to my family doc yesterday & yes, I have a bladder infection :mad: I used to get them all the time, but had none during my entire pregnancy!! They say it is common for women to get them after giving birth & I was just wondering if any of you have had this problem?? The doc put me on Bactrim for 7 days...waiting for my bladder to feel better & hoping I don't get a yeast infection (it never fails).

oh i'm so sorry...that stinks! I would call your doc and ask him or her to prescribe a Diflucan to prevent a yeast infection...that way you dont have to worry about it! Good luck and congratulations on your new baby!!

My doc did send me home with a script for Diflucan just in case I need it. I would rather use the cream if I get a yeast infection, but I can't since I just had my son. Hopefully strong probiotics & yogurt will help :pray: Thanks!!
