Sorry, but I couldn't figure out the most appropriate to post this.

I have a dry, choking cough and am wondering what I can take for it.

Werthers candies are doing nothing for me. I've even tried a teaspoon of honey and it didn't help at all.

I have a bottle of Robitussin (dextromethorphan HBr) and am wondering if anyone here has taken it without it causing a flare for you.

Is the cough in your throat? If so, you might try gargling with warm salt water. Just dissolve some salt in warm water...Don't swallow...Spit it out. :)

If you don't get better in a couple of days, you should probably get in to see your doctor to have it checked out.

I can take robitussen with no problem. Are you on medications? Some of those can be a problem.

Thanks ladies.

I checked with the pharmacy and was told it would be no problem to take Robitussin.

I truly hate a non-productive, choking cough!!!!

Before I take the Robutussin, I will try gargling with salt water.

Every time I am with my grandchildren they give me the gift that keeps on giving. They live 6 hours away and a cough is worth it just to see them. At least they didn't give me stomach flu!!!
