Elmiron and hair loss... never happened until more than a year of taking it

Dear All,

I am a little at a loss: I am losing quite a lot of hair (as seen after taking showers which are giving me a good fist full of hair...), and I cannot understand why it would happen (no new meds or health condition)... I have been on Elmiron since beginning of 2008, and have not noticing any problem until now. I have read here that it can cause some hair loss, and I was wondering what was the IC people experience here with hair loss. I have short hair, so, so much hair loss is beginning to show....

I wish I could help, I have been on Elmiron for at least 10 years and always had the thickest hair. Now all of a sudden my hair is thinning and the only thing that has changed is I am on instills of heparin, lidocaine and sodium bicarb. Not sure why??

Since you have already been on it for an entire year without that side effect you might want to have the doctor rule out other possible causes for hair loss. Just to make sure something else isn't going on.
