Interesting enough I had this massive ovarian cyst. When my doc went in to remove it he said that he moved my uterus off of my bladder.... I guess where it's been sitting my whole life. Ever since I came out of that surgery my constant pain went away... I will still get the pain if I eat chocolate but I have learned to live without it.... to think all those tests, all the tears, all the medication to learn that my IC was being caused by my uterus sitting on my bladder.

That is interesting that it may not have been just the cyst but the uterus stuck on the bladder. See that is what a visceral manipulator told me (specially trained to feel from the outside of you if there are organ restrictions due to adhesions - different from what a pelvic PT does). He said my uterus was stuck on my bladder but his manipulations couldn't unstuck it. No urologist has ever taken this possibility seriously. I wonder if there is another way of determining this short of surgery - like an MRI or something.
Vesta - I'm glad you got most of the riddle solved. I hope you continue to improve and some day even it chocolate! PV

That's great news!
I had a huge improvement following a hysterectomy, because my uterus was no longer pressing on my bladder.
Now i only have very occasional flares, ie one every couple of years lasting a few weeks (have just come out of one).
I hope your good health continues!

ok, this is the kind of news I was hoping to hear from someone! Congratulations! I am in a similar situation in that 2 urologists think my sole problem is that my uterus is taking up more than half my bladder, and 1 thinks it's IC....before I became pregnant, my only symptom was the constant urge to urinate that occurred only when walking. Now the urge is constant since I had my son, and also because I am now pregnant again (first child is only 14 months old). To all the ladies who say a hysterectomy helped, what were your symptoms? Thanks so much for any responses because I am trying to decide if the hysterectomy is worth the risk. So confusing, all of this!
