Hi, I'll be getting my first of 12 bladder instillations tomorrow. They are using lidocaine, marcaine, heparin, sodium bicarb and an antibiotic , all going into my bladder:dizzy: this sounds like a lot to me! Just wondering how anyone else has done, and has anyone had the antibiotic put into the bladder and had any problems with that??? Thanks, Grace

Hi Grace,
I have had everything but the antibiotic. It went smooth, no pain or side effects. I am wondering why the antibiotic, do you have some recurrent infections?

I have had 32 DMSO treatments. Never had the antibiotic put in though. They are probably giving you the antibiotic because you can get an infection from these treatments. Sounds smarter to me to do that then take one by mouth which goes through your system. Also, preventing is so much better than actually getting one.

Thanks ladies for your help! I just got home. It went pretty good. I felt light headed for a while , but it went away pretty quick. No real problems. I'm wondering, if this helps how long can it help for?? I've been on Elmiron for a month and my dr. hopes this will help till that kicks in, if it does. Thanks! Grace
