Ok, so in a nutshell i'm 36 weeks pregnant with a 13 month old son and thank God I have an unbelievably amazing husband who helps every second he is not working. I'm scared because I was only officialy diagnosed with IC as I found out I was pregnant with this baby, so I never had a chance to give treatments a shot. Instills during this pregnancy have barely given me relief. My question is there anyone out there who had instills not really do much during pregnancy, but have been helped by them when not pregnant? I'm so scared treatments aren't going to do much because that seems to be the case with a lot of IC patients. Basically I do not know how I could go on taking care of two children feeling the way I do now, and I don't feel there is much hope that this constant urge to urinate will ever subside. I'm sorry to sound negative, but i'm just really scared. Any advice or stories of hope would be awesome right now!

Hi!
I didn't have IC when I was pregnant, but there are IC-ers on here who have, and I hope they catch up to you soon!
I have a friend who had instill problems and finally discovered that she was allergic to the preservatives in the instills. It might be one fix that could help! - always worth a shot, at least.
Others find a different instill recipe works for them - IC has NEVER been one-size-fits-all.
I can't imagine the stress of dealing with IC and pregnancy and a young one! When I was going through the diagnostic process I was watching my four-year-old autistic grandson, and that was MORE than enough challenge for me! :(
Welcome to the ICN... Don't worry, things DO get better for most of us!

Hello
I got pregnant with IC, not knowing that was what was wrong with me. I got feeling better with my IC somewhat during pregnancy. After I gave birth though that first 6-8 weeks werer horrible IC wise that is.
But once I was good and breastfeeding I felt better and better.
It wasnt completely gone, I had bad days. I wonder now if I had done the diet(I love mexican and pop and chocolate and salsa) if it would have bothered me at all. So maybe you'll feel really great during breastfeeding too. Hope that gives you some hope.
Right now at this point in your pregnacy the weight of the baby and position is part playing a part in your symptoms right now. After your baby is born and your hormones settle down again see where you are at.
In the meantime watch your diet and see how much that will help. Also congrats on your new baby on the way.:)
