Has anyone noticed the progesterone in the Nuvaring hurt their bladder?

Progesterone usually bothers IC bladders.

Do y'all know where we can find out for sure if progesterone aggravates IC bladders? I need to be on birth control due to uterine cyst issues and as far as I know there is no progesterone free BC out there. This may be the reason why my pain levels haven't been improving all these many months despite my strict diet adherence and meds, etc. I'm calling my gyno to make an appt now...... :(

My doctor is kind of not my favorite person but he's really frontline on IC. I just started a progesterone only pill and he believes it won't hurt my bladder. I don't think it is hurting it but I don't know because my IC isn't under full control yet and I just got over a UTI. My gut sense is I am not feeling any worse because of the progesterone. My gynecologist is pretty IC knowledgeable and he said he didn't think it would be a problem either. I have had some pain free days while on the pill.
I hope this helped a little. Also, just a note. I know some use the Nuva ring and love it but I am not sure it's the best for IC patients. Your muscles need to hold it in place and my pelvic floor muscles are tight enough already. They don't need a workout if ya know what I mean.

I hear ya on not needing that extra workout for sure! :) Especially since I think I'm also dealing with pelvic floor issues. I guess there's no way for me to know if the progesterone is aggravating things since I've not been off the ring since I started out my IC symptoms and I haven't had a pain free day, unfortunately, since this all began. The only way to test would be to go off BC which I can't do. Hmmm. Why can't things just be easy. :)

I like my progesterone only pill. I hardly know I am on the pill and it isn't really disrupting my life at all. You could also take a low dose BC pill like Yaz and it would be similar to Nuva Ring.

I am on Yaz now and it dosn't hurt my bladder I also have taken seasonek that worked well and orthotry cyclen, that made me feel sick. The worst expeirence thus far has be the nuva ring. I don't think it had to so with the proestesterone but it was unconfertable due to My PFD.

i'm on the nuva ring and think it ROCKS :) it has helped, not hurt, my ic. thankfully there are lots of options, so you can keep trying until you find the one that works for YOU! :)
