large red blood cells.

I have had ic for 7 years now and i'm having a very bad flare,also pain in both kidneys.I had blood test done and it came back showing large red blood cells.I like to know if anyone has had this happen to them.Can't take this anymore!Also in pain.Please if anyone has any information on this i would be greatful.

Did your doctor tell you why the test showed that you have large red blood cells? Does this have something to do with the Kidney pain? I am always concerned when people say they have pain in their kidneys. Did your doctor test to see if you have an infection?

I have had this show up in every test, from even before the IC was DXed.( which took 5 years)
.At first the GYN didn't think much about it.. They tested me inside and out..nothing but IC..Try not to worry about it much...if you can:confused: I know it sounds awful, but..unless something is going on w/you that I don't know about ,..just know it's the IC doing what it does with all it's odd symptoms. I have lived with large red blood cells and high potassium (sp) too, for as long as I can recall.and it's all about IC..so says my URO..and she is the best in this state.. I think so any way.. ALL she does is IC and women only now..She speaks and if it's out there about IC she knows..So, if she tells me red blood cells are enlarged, but I'm ok.. I believe her.

Hello i just wanted to say thank you for the information.I haveto go back to the doctor today to find out what if anything it is.I don't feel sick except for the flares,but i got a treatment for it on monday and feeling a little better.As far as the large red blood cells who knows! Again thanks for making me feel better! I love this site.I wish all of you a pain feel day!I'll let you know what the doctor says today about the blood.

just thought i would let you all know that i went back to my gp today and he said that my vitamin b12 and folic acid is good.As far as the large red blood cells he said he believes it's from the ic.He said he will keep watch.So that was good news!Again thank you all for being here for me.

See, just IC:hi: and though it's IC, I can imagine how nervous you must have been, when I was told I was nervous it was something else..It's just our illness..I'm glad you found out it's not something worse..then large..RBC's..Good luck to you.
