Elmiron making me worse?

hi,
I started taking Elmiron 3 days ago and the pelvic pressure i have is unbearable. Could this be from the medication? Anyone else experience this problem? Thanks,

I went through that and when I called my doctor he told me to stop taking it immediatley. I know some people on the board have recommended that the capsule can cause problems and they take the capsule apart and take the medication only

Definitely talk to your doc about it. I have a friend on the boards who felt much worse ON Elmiron. I think she stayed on it for a month or two and when she stopped it she felt better. She is also someone who has had bad reactions to a lot of medications. Do you have bad reactions to other meds?

I have heard that Elmiron doesn't help everyone, but I haven't heard that it can actually make symptoms worse. I would talk to your doctor right away and let him or her know how you're feeling.

I have taken Elmiron on and off over the past three years. What I found is when I am on Elmiron under my arms become extremely itchy and also my urine irritates me ( I become itchy and burning also) When I stop taking Elmiron, about two month later the symptoms went away. I told my uro and he just shrugged his shoulders (he isn't the greatest dr anyway) Besides that, I didn't find that Elmiron helped me at all. I read that Elmiron only helps 38% of ic patients.
