I will be having both an HSG and a hysteroscopy on the same day. Will either of these make my bladder worse? What can I expect? Thanks!

I hope you made it through the procedures. I haven't checked in here in a while, so I missed this post. Did you do all right afterward? I hope the results were good.

I had my HSG several years before I developed IC, so I don't know if it would affect your bladder or not. I didn't have a hysteroscopy, so I have no idea about that one. Were both procedures clear? Did you get any answers at all?

Thanks for asking. The procedures didn't worse my bladder, and my results were all good. I'm still waiting the results of some blood work. I tested borderline positive for some clotting issues and have a history of low progesterone. I think the RE will prescribe me clomid and put me on baby aspirin. He knows about the elmiron I am taking, so I don't know whether he'll adjust the baby aspirin based on that.

OMG, I thought I was going to die on the table the other day when they did the HSG. I was not given ANYTHING and it flared my IC bad. But then, it could be that leftover matter from a m/c or either a uterine polyp, whatever that is. They said it would be sent to pathology for analysis but he does not feel it is cancer. I am so stressed out. He is starting me after my surgery on July 27th on Ovadril and Gonadotropin shots called GonalF in preparation for IUI. The great thing is, we can do IUI for free. IVF is 5-7K per attempt and we do not have that kind of money laying around, but they are starting a finance program and we might try it once. I don't think we can afford more than that. I hope IUI works because we are desperate to have a baby. Maybe surgery will improve my chances. Does anyone know if having whatever this is taken out will help me? Also, I can't take non-steroidal anti-inflammatories because of the prostaglandins. They make IC much, much worse. So, I hope they give me at least some Percocet.
