Is there a way to not let IC interfere with your life?! I know I need to not let this disease take over but I feel like it has already consumed my mind. I can't even believe I graduated from college. And now all this pressure to get a job! I'm a pop/rock performer & that is what I want to do. But there are days that even that is hard to get excited about when the symptoms are bad. And why did this come out of no where? My bladder was ok for a few months & now I'm as bad with IC as I was this time last year. Oy. Tonight I have a gig & instead of focusing on it I'm just like "omg my bladder is so sore" Ugh. My parents & boyfriend & friends must be absolutely sick of hearing it. My parents know the amount of pain I'm in but since I talk about it all the time they think I'm a hypocondriac & I don't know how to let myself not be sick all the time. I wish people didn't misunderstand IC patients.

Anways. wanted to vent. Maybe now I'll be able to clear my head & focus on my performance. I hope you all are having a pain free day. Love! :bunny:

How cool that you are a pop/rock performer! I see how IC can interfere with performing. I have been in many musicals, and when I was in "a flare" (which I wasn't diagnosed at that time and didn't know what was going on ) it took every bit of energy to get thru the show. I was in the diagnosing phase when the doctors told me it's all in my head. I told myself whatever this is I will not let it stop me from what I love to do. As the years have progressed and my symptoms worsen, I have put aside the performing, unfortunately. Since my diagnosis it has given me relief that I know it's NOT all in my head! Some doctors just don't have any compassion. I wish you pain free performances. Are you taking any pain meds? Think Positive :smile tee

Hi there! Thanks so much for everything. Kuntry: Just got in from my gig! It went well. I had no pain during the performance, funny how it goes away like that when your mind is focused on something else, haha. Miracle: I hope you still keep up with singing/acting in your spare time even if you're not hittin the stage! I haven't taken pain meds since November (tried the holistic thing but then once the endo arrived i gave up on that) so now 2 months since the endo was removed i have given back into 10mg Amitryptaline at night. I could only avoid the pain for so long ya know? And without those herbal anti-inflammatories, it feels brutle!

If either of you want to hear my music it's at: myspace.com/AngelaDiPalantino

i hope you have a great night! love!

I'm so glad it went well, AngKat.

Performing always was and, I hope, always will be an almost out-of-body experience for me.

It's also great that we're usually helping our audience members forget about their cares for a time.

I'm glad your gig went well. Yeah, it seems like being a performer + IC would be like a dirty cosmic trick to play on someone! I'd imagine having to cancel or being a no-show would be devastating to your career. Hopefully you'll get to a place where your symptoms are pretty well controlled so IC doesn't interfere so much.

I listened to your myspace National Anthem. That's such a tough song to sing and you did great!

Glad you had a good time at your gig. Sometimes just getting your mind off of your IC problems helps.
