Hi Katie
I will start with the good news by saying that many here have reported that Cymbalta helps them a lot for depression and anxiety!:)
But from the posts I have seen it seems to help more with those symptoms than with pain. JMHO, it seems to be over-rated in the advertising/commercials on TV dept for helping with pain;) based on the posts I have seen here.

I generally tolerate SSRI and SNRI antidepressants well with minor or no side effects, but Cymbalta is one that put me to sleep for a week :cat:so I had to discontinue before being on it long enough to see if it would help with depression, anxiety, or pain. I work full time and drive so being asleep for a week wasn't really conducive to that!

Luckily Prozac is the SSRI that works for me for depression without side effects. It does not seem to help me with pain, altho the first year or so that I was taking it, it relieved my menstrual pain 100%....a very welcome side effect!:) That was way pre-IC tho, and now it does not seem to help at all for my menstrual pain, tho I have read that these days it is often prescribed just for that.

I'm sure others will post there experiences with Cymbalta...do not get discouraged by my experience as many others have had much better experience! I hope it works for you! Take care.

I have been on 60 mg of cymbalta for several years now and it works for my anxiety and depression and I believe I get some pain relief from it. It is hard to be sure about that part as I also do bladder instillations that help me tons, but I don't take any other pain meds so I have to think I am getting some relief from this and my urologist believes the same thing. I hope you do well with it.
