So they had to do a pelvic mri before they could do my cystoscopy. Turns out on top of everything else I have a "distended bladder." Anyone else ever been diagnosed with this? I've researched it as best I can but I'm still very puzzled and you know how doctors are. They like to make you wait before they explain anything.

I know you guys are not doctors, (I'm assuming as much anyway. Lol.) but any information ya'll might have on this weirdness please share.

Getting cystoscopy and hydrodystention on the 27th, they'll put me out for it. In case there are complications and it turns into something more.

I'm basically doing my best not to drown in fear.

:help:

Everyone keeps telling me how strong I am but really, I'm don't feel that way. I'm just in pain and tired and fed up.

And now, deeply confused as well. :P

They were just describing that your bladder was full. It is a description, not a diagnosis.

LOL. When is my bladder ever not full? LOL.
Unfortunately I never seem to completely empty the damned thing.

Hey Hannah,

Distended bladders are a symptom of IC. Not being able to fully empty your bladder would cause it to the distended. If you have a chronic problem with retention and "dribble-itis" then more than likely that is the reason.

Try turning on the water in the sink or bathtub when you pee. That's can make the bladder very competitive and--jealous!--and a lot more urine will come out!! I have also recently discovered that 'standing up to pee' enables me to totally empty my bladder! Plus, by standing up, I do not have painful pre-pee spasms or dribble-itis any more!

I hope all goes well on the 27th!

I do the running water trick and don't dribble but rarely feel like I've emptied my bladder. My Pfd is pretty bad. Thanks for response!
