I am not sure if this is the proper area, but has anyone found anything to help them if they were having difficulty with sex? I have been on Elmiron 100mg twice a day for over a year, Enablex 15mg over a year, using Elavil with Valium suppositories, and have been on Elavil 25mg for almost 2 months and still have incredibly painful sex. I had a bladder distention a year ago and that didn't help either. My urologist said I can try bladder instillations, but that scares me and she also gave me information on a device that can be hooked up to my bladder, but even that isn't a guarantee to help with the painful sex.
Has anyone found something that worked or at least improved the pain? Thanks for any tips.

I am actually sitting her miserable, i had sex yesterday 3 times, and I am in so much pain i am wishing would just die or faint. But what helps.... for me, getting oral sex first ALWAYS makes it less painful, and increases the chance of an orgasm a ton! most recommened tip! :) it makes sex wayyy better for me. next, after sex wipe with a cold washcloth. During sex, if the position is hurting try moving, i find it is most comfortable when there is little-no thrusting, so the big in and out motions, try and eliminate that by keeping the man (if its a male partner) as close to your body as possible, and do not let him thrust in and out, stay close super close to eachother and just kind of grind on eachother, so that the penis isnt slamming your stomach. that is so painful to me so i keep the person really close so they cant do it deep/hard. some also use lidocaine during sex, also take a pain pill or muscle relaxer if you can.

Sadly I know about oral sex being effective but my boyfriend is repulsed by it. So that is out of the question. It's funny because in the beginning stages of our relationship I hadn't noticed that the oral sex wasn't taking place. I had braces and figured since he didn't want me to do it to him that is why he wasn't doing it to me. It wasn't until the braces came off and my heart was invested that it came out he just didn't find the act sexy, but if I wanted to do it to him I should feel free. :lmao:
I have found on top is a little less irritating and I guess that is because he can't thrust. I never thought of lidocaine but I will definitely give that a try. How would I use that? Put it inside my vagina? Or wherever I usually have pain? I do use hydrocodone before sex and sometimes the suppositories as a lubrication. The valium/amitriptyline suppositories don't always work. Also, I noticed you have a TENS unit. I also have one, but its for my migraines. How do you use it for IC?
Thanks again for useful tips!
