So I wouldn't TMI like this if it didn't really hurt...but I was wondering if anyone had had pain "down there" that didn't seem to match up with what I'm reading about the female problems that can be seen with bladder pain (VV, vulvodynia, pudendal nerve issues). The last two days have been no fun esp sitting, in what I refer to as the "entertainment center" area and what little pad of fat I have left over my pubic bone. But no pain or deep aches further back. (I was reading the PN stuff and got a little freaked out.) I could be more specific in a PM...

Possible contributing factors:

I am a desk worker, haven't ordered my seat cushion yet (dumb), and have lost enough weight that I am sitting right flat on my bones/joints/most tender bits. I have been sitting on a cleverly rolled blanket.

Had cath run at uro the other day for an instill but it started before that. I do think the urethra is swollen.

On generic Prilosec since Monday and tried my first CystoProtek yesterday.

Things I've already done awhile ago: changed to pure olive oil soap, wash things in Dreft w/ no softener, things to minimize post piddle irritation, etc.

Yes. It's better with standing, ice, etc. My uro didn't recognize it as a problem...think I'd probably have to hunt for a gyno that did too. At the urogyn a few weeks ago he did the q-tip test and pushed all around during the pelvic and none of it bothered me.

Ants. It actually kind of feels like ant bites, right in that soft pad beneath/over the sore bladder and parts south. But it is almost more like external irritation than of deep origin...

 cool packs were just not road tested for this

Perhaps a YI?

I don't know, D. Maybe? I have a gyno appt tomorrow am. It's like my most personal bit just north of the urethra has gone inflamed/skeevy feeling/crawly. But nothing else at the moment is misbehaving (knock on wood). It's driving me kind of nuts and work was difficult...I'd say sitting was not fun but that it doesn't make the hugest difference.

if anyone sees this and has any advice I'd appreciate it...I have read through the V/VV and PNE threads already...I see a few mentions of clitoral pain/irritation but not many.

Gasp! CC...no soap for you! I am going to become the "soap Nazi" on this site. Like the "Soup Nazi" on Seinfeld. I never EVER use soap. I only use baking soda and then rinse well. It works better and will never hurt your skin or give you a UTI.

I think completely unscented laundry soap is best. If you add vinegar to the wash it comes out smelling really fresh and clean.

:tsk: NO SOAP FOR YOU!!!!

I have Vulvodynia and it does not respond to the Q tip test I feel nothing.. But when I am flaring I have that feeling you are describing and yes sometimes it feels like ants Biting me.. BUT a yeast infection will also make you feel this way so please have this ruled out..

Is it kind of like a pinch? Or a bunch of little pinches??

My BAD V flares are more of a stabbing...but sometimes I get mini flares as I like to call them and its more of a pinchy thing.

It is really uncomfortable at times.

I visited my gyno NP today...first time since seeing the uro...and she did a culture (not a full pelvic luckily) but said she didn't see anything under the microscope that looked suspicious. It will take a couple days for the culture. They made me go upstairs to pee in a cup at the uro since I was a bit worried about a real UTI after an instill last week. The other pain started before the last instill but also perhaps the urethra is swollen...I'm kind of peeing all over which is not normal for me.

When it first started I could touch stinging places right over what little fat pad I have left over the pubic bone (I think I've got a handle on the weight loss but I'm sitting right on all my bones/joints now). I could single one out in particular over to the right. That got a little better until this afternoon...the rest of it the best way to describe it is that it feels like it would if someone put their palm down, curled their knuckles under and was holding onto my inner labia/clitoral area between their first and second finger. Not tightly...just always there/aware and sore/swollen/uncomfortable. (what's that? get off me...) It is better if I stand/worse if I sit but I don't think that's because the pain actually lets up--it's just not being squished. I can still stand and it feels crawly...To date nothing further back has bothered me, but I have never used my equipment for its intended purpose (waited to meet the right man, met him, started birth control, my abdomen/bladder caught fire--what is this, a Greek myth?) so there are some situations I couldn't speak to. I normally detest the pelvic but today it didn't particularly bother me.

No fun.

I will say my NP was familiar with the idea of most of the different chronic pelvic pain problems--I asked--tho she said we'd have to hunt someone to help if required.

I got a prescription for this lidocaine jelly that seems popular here. My IC cushion won't be here for awhile. I am supposed to travel tomorrow as MoH for my best friend's wedding...there *will* be sitting.

Hope everyone has a good night.

Feel better CC. I hope you have something to stop the discomfort.:(

Thanks P-G...

Haha! My cushions are here.

If I sit on one my feet don't touch the floor. :-)

My gyno NP ran a culture and it came back positive for Strep B, so she called in an amoxicillin prescription. But Strep B looks like it's not a big deal if you aren't expecting, so I have to decide whether the antibiotics are worth it (more antibiotics? encouraging yeast? possibly improving some symptoms at least temporarily?). I have seen it mentioned on here, but in my brief online research I have not seen anywhere that describes symptoms related to it in nonpregnant reasonably healthy women.
