Becky in labor

My niece Becky is in labor, her baby isn't due until 6/4 but she lost the muscus plug and started contractions 5 mins apart. she is at 2 cm, and 80% thinned. Last Thursday her dr told her he will be a big baby, and wants to do a ultra sound at 38 weeks, because he has not dropped, and was affraid he would turn and be breech. I will let you know when the blessed event happens :)

Well, it's almost a fitting way to spend Mother's Day,..either still in labor, or with a newly arrived little one!

I hope everything goes well with it being almost four weeks ahead of schedule!

well......... she got to 2 cm and 80% thinned, and labor stopped. They told her she could go home, and she would end up coming back today, but will deliver by the end of the week, I'll let you know. It would be cool for her to have him today, nearly every one in our family was born on a holiday or some ones b-day.

Well, that's probably good that the labor stopped. A little extra time to finish "baking", you know? I suppose there's some concern now of infection since the plug is compromised?

I don't don't know if there is really, because her water hasn't broke. When I was pregnant almost 21 years ago I lost mine and delivered 2 weeks later. But of course things have really changed since then, I would tend to agree that it is possible, but they sent her home.

They don't worry about the mucous plug anymore. Just if your water has broken. *sigh* Having a baby is so exciting.:)
