cauterization of ulcer during cystoscopy

Hello all- I am writing to see if anyone has had an ulcer lasered. I have had IC for a long time. However, recently my symptoms are worse on one side over the other and I have pin point pain in one spot. My urologist stated that he thought I may have developed an ulcer and he wants to do a cystoscopy to see and if I have one, he would like to cauterize it. Anyone had that? I don't want to hear anything truly bad...but I would like to know if it hurt or helped.

Mine have been cauterized before. I can't say whether it helped because I had a hydro at the same time and hydros always help.
