I don't know if this is typical or not but I will be flaring like I am now and feel the pressure to pee. Than I go and lay back down to rest and slowly my bladder with start to burn again and be even more upset with me than before I went especialy if my bladder wasn't full. I don't know if there is a way to avoid the burning sensation inside my bladder after uriating when flaring I am not sure if anyone has come up with some tips, but if so do share.

:)Hello Bluetart, I get that sometimes. When I'm done relieving myself I hurt even more. EVERYWHERE down there. I rest with a pillow scrunched to my abdomen , drink my water and take Prosed ds. It helps, although sometimes it never ceases and I end up taking stronger meds.
Hope this helps, think positive! :smile tee

I get that too. It's awful!
I wonder if it's caused by the raw walls of my bladder being able to touch each other once it's been deflated. That's what it feels like to me.
The main thing I've found that helps me is to keep drinking water,..basically get some liquid back in there as soon as possible.
Sorry you're flaring! I hope it passes quickly!

I get it too. But if I wait a little bit, the feeling sometimes will go away.

That used to happen to me, too. Sometimes I would feel "better" for a few minutes and then worse...

yeah I don't get it but its very unconfertable. I try and drink 7 cups of water a day. Hard to convince myself but I make an effort to drink at least a whole nalagene which is six cups and than I have a sippy cup for night time so I don't spill it all over myself when I wake up at night
Oh well its better today. Thanx for the support I think my flare with be done by friday as long as I am carfull, its starting to improve.

Hey Bluetart,
I am glad you are feeling better, but I thought I would chime in since this has always been a problem for me--and still is.
Vicki described it well: "I wonder if it's caused by the raw walls of my bladder being able to touch each other once it's been deflated. That's what it feels like to me."
And, from what I have learned, that is exactly what is happening, which is also one of the many unsolvable problems with IC pain. Because of frequency, the trauma of having been to pee the last time does not have time to calm down before its time to go again--and--repeat trauma.
For me, this is what creates a continuous cycle of trauma, which then creates a continuous cycle of pain. I have always described it as "ground-glass-churning-around-in-my-bladder" pain.
Note: I have never had any "burning pain" while actually peeing, just tear-squirting spasm pain as I try to get a flow started and that god-awful feeling of "one raw wall grinding up against another raw wall" that we are referring to here. Such pain can start within a few seconds or as much as a few minutes after peeing.
Before my pain was under better control, I used to totally dread going to pee, and most always referred to the bathroom as the "torture chamber":(
Now, however, with 24/7 pain meds and bladder instills three times a week, the pain of this problem has decreased dramatically -- most of the time. Sometimes, however, I can be enjoying a pretty low pain level, have to go pee and--OMG!--it can TOTALLY ruin everything! This is huge part of what IC is for me.
Again, I am glad you are better, and I hope this doesn't become a chronic problem for you like it has for me.

I am not sure if this is chronic or not This feeling of realy hurting after i go to the bathroom is typical through out the weak but def not every day. Maybe 3 days out of the weak, or if I am in a flare. Which thankfully is starting to calm down and I am hoping will keep improving so I will have a good weekend.
Yeah I don't have the burrning when pee either, just a bladder burn like a jelly fish after I am done. I have not had burning pain while I pee since my UTI a year and a half ago.

I get this quite often. When I'm a in real bad flare or UTI I burn before, during and after peeing. When my bladder is at it's worse I'm often in pain 24/7.

My pain is similar to TexasHoney, but I have pain every single time I pee, before, durring and after and sometimes and doesn't go away. Durring a flare up its even more painful. The restroom is my hell and my toilet and I have a love hate relationship lol. It is quit interesting to here the comment about the pain caused by the bladder walls touching, I have never thought about that.

Yes, sometimes. IC is very unpredictable. Sometimes feeling ok. Sometimes hurting before and after I pee. A frustrating disease!:bunny:
