I have fallen down into that endless black hole of doom again. Been eating non-stop too , which I do when it happens. For some reason my mind says not to take the cymbalta. It just does not want me to take it or other pills like that. Have no problem taking the hydroxyzine or vicodin but any anti-pills my mind says no to. Anyone else have this problem too? Still taking the cymbalta so how I ended up in the dark hole again is beyond be but now the waiting game starts to see how long I stay in it.

:confused::confused:I have no idea why you keep stopping the antideppressants...they're not like narcotics where you take them and few hours later you feel something.

Antidepressants are like plane going down a runway....you need to keep taking them over a period of time so they get buildup in your system so they get up to a certain level and gradually things start to work out and even out.

But every time you start and stop...it messes up your whole body and mind. You're not giving it a fair chance to work. The meds never get a running start to get to their proper working levels.

I say all this gently but firmly. I also think you really need to seek counseling. I think you've got some hardcore issues you need to sort out and professional help would be the way to go.

I agree, you must take them for them to work. You do have to take them as directed.

I think you should contact your states low in come housing and tell them you are in desperate need of a home. You pay by your income. As long as you are stuck where you are you are going to feel like this, you do not need to be in this position anymore.
good luck!

I don't know of anything else I can say that hasn't already been said. You absolutely need to take your medications full time --- no skipped doses.

Sending warm hugs,
Donna

I have a friend who struggles to stay on her antidepressants, too. She gets frustrated with herself. The rest of us feel helpless as we see her better ON them and struggling when she is off of them. *sigh*

Dear All,

I will have a visit with my urologist Tuesday, I want to ask him for Amtriptiline or Lyrica for urgency/frequency. Do any of you think one of these meds will work for the urg/freq. I don't have pain. But this voiding all the time is enough to drive a person crazy.

Thanks
Minnie

those meds are not for urgency and frequency, to the best of my knowledge. Amtryptiline is an antidepressant, and it helps with pain. Lyrica is usually prescribed for fibromyalgia.

Amitryptyline helped my urgency and frequency a little bit. My uro explained that it has a side effect of relaxing the bladder - which an help with the spasms.

Mary,
I have to chime in with the others here, you have to stay on the meds for them to help you.

Hi Minnie-
I take Amitryptiline 10 mg each evening. My symptoms were also only urgency and frequency, not pain. The Amitryptline was one of the last meds I added and it seemed to do the final trick for me. Most days I feel normal now. In addition I take Sanctura XR (an OAB med), and Cystoprotek twice a day. This combo of meds has really worked for me. I also have managed to cut a lot of stress out of my life. Found out that stress was a HUGE trigger for my IC, maybe even more than food! I understand about being driven crazy with the voiding. I was there just a couple of months ago and thought I would go totally insane. Now I am back to going every three to four hours and sleeping through the night most nights- except when one of my kids wakes me up! Good luck-
Kristin

Thanks Guys,

I do appreciate you all and this website which has been a God send to me. Finally someone chimed in with the same symptoms as I have, urg/freq only. My Med list is enablex 15 mg, hydroxyzine 50 mg 2x daily but I only do 1 pill daily (makes me sleepy) I break in half and take it around midday and the other half a couple of hours before bed, still is not the full dosage but whatever. This is my second time that I will do the 6 Heparin instills for 6 weeks. I've done 4 already I have 2 more to go. I tried the Elmiron, Ditropan, dextrol, sanctura, vesicare, didn't work for me. Do you have (PFD) My urologist told me that I did. I ordered the book Headache in the Pelvis, I am trying to find something that will help relax the floor muscles so that this urg/freq can stop. I am going to ask my urologist about the Ampryptiline tomorrow.

Thanks, so much
Minnie
