Feeling badly

Hi evryone,

I wrote the other day ow I had my 3rd Cysto/Hydro but now they did a biopsy. I started feeling better Tuesday and Wednedy although my bladder is still messed up and then last night I came down with the chills, a fever and my body aches. I put a call into my Internist but they told me that I had to to talk to my urologist who did the surgery in fear that I may have an infection. Ok, I called 3 times today. My doctor has yet to call me back. That in itself is starting to piss me off. Has any of you experienced anything similar....not the no call but an infection. As I am finishing urinating, I get a burning/painful sensation in my bladder.

It would be nice to hear from my doctor.

I had a cysto/hydro done about 12 days ago. I was on augmentin (an antibiotic) while I had the procedure done. The urologist told me to continue taking the antibiotic for the next 5 days. After a few days, I wasn't quite feeling right and I insisted they do a urine culture. Guess what? I tested positive for a UTI while on the Augmentin. I was switched to cipro and have been on it for 5 days now. It is very possible to get an infection after a cysto. I hope your doctor puts you on an antibiotic. good luck!

I had an experience like late after a colonoscopy w biopsy.....I had the highest fever I can remember ever having.....cipro helped me though.

I hope you can get into the doc and feel better soon.....do you have a number to call on your reliece form....I got into ER right away on mine...maybe you should go to ER.

I also was put on an antibiotic for a few days after my cysto w/ hydro as a preventive measure. I still got a UTI!!!! So, yes, it is very common. Keep bugging that doctor and if nothing else, go to the ER or a Quick Care to get a urine culture done.

Thanks for the support. The doctor finally called me and put me on Levaquin. I tend to do better on that then Cipro. My fever is down so hopefully I will start to feel better. I just hope the burning and pain go away in my bladder and that the cysto/hydro is a success.

BTW - Please excuse my mis spellings above. I was tired and frustrated.
