Hi all,
I have a question about a symptom I've had since this all started for me last July, but I'm not really sure how to describe it, so here goes.
When I bend forward at the waist I have an uncomfortable feeling of pressure, almost as if something is in the way. This is how my IC started originally and it's the one thing that has never really varied (even when other symptoms are better, it never seems to go away). It's not painful and it is also there even when the ic-belly problem is not.
Anybody had this before? Any ideas what it is... am I feeling my bladder? There are definitely times I do feel my bladder, but this doesn't feel like that.
I've mentioned it to several doctors, but none have really given an answer.

I have always felt like I was carring a watermelon around all the time but I didn't have the feeling of something in the way when I bend over. Have you have any ultrasounds done or Catscans?

Well, I did have an ultrasound initially, but no CT. I also had a laparoscopy for endometriosis. Last week my IC doctor told me I need to see a GI specialist to see about a colonoscopy b/c I was complaining about my belly swelling (which I thought could be related to IC but he wants to make sure it's not something else).

I had a colonoscopy done too and nothing was found. I really think all the "insides" are connected and the IC effects them. How I haven't figured out yet.

I think the colonoscopy is a good idea.

Yes, I have always felt like there was something in there when I bent over. I was dx last Oct/08. At first I kept saying it felt like I had a baby in there. I still have it but mostly on bad days. I am glad to see I am not the only one. I really can't say I know why it feels that way but when I am not having a bad day, which is rarely, I don't feel that "thing" in there.

Oh yes I have that quite often. Somtimes the slightest movement while standing, sitting or lying in bed causes me to have twinges in and around my bladder. It's often like waves of pain. A lot of times I can't tell if it's my IC or M.S. Very frustratiing

I almost always have that feeling. I have come to believe that it is my bladder that I am feeling when I bend over at the waist. Most people only feel their bladder when they need to empty it. We ICers are very aware of our bladders most of the time. I am...even when I am not flaring.

Has anyone felt like your entire abdomen is swollen and painful. It does not feel like my bladder. More like my colon? Does anyone know if I could be mistaken the pain, and it is the IC that is giving me this pain.
I am so frustrated................................

I realize this post is from a couple of weeks ago but I get that feeling also. Mine sometimes feels I am carrying a big boulder, and it is hard to the touch and heavy and painful. Anyone feel like a they have a rock instead of a bladder???:bonk:

i always feel like i have pain in my belly and kidney area. i can't bend over with out a tonne of pain killers. Sitting hurts, laying on my tummy hurts, laying on my side hurts, and on the really bad days, even laying on my back hurts. my urologist did say that mine was caused by IC. it actually feels like my whole entire mid section is gonna explode like there is so much pressure in there.
all the best and i hope your tests come back good...

I usually take a lot of pain killers when I have a flare. Seems that I have more flares than not... the other thing is I really steer clear of acid based things and pop etc... but yeah, my fix is pain killers because I am so sick of the pain.
