My urogyn increased my Elavil to 25mg/day and I've been on it for about 10 days now.
For the past few days I feel like my heart is beating faster, but I'm still w/in the "normal" BPM range when I check my pulse (its around 92, the normal range is 60-100; I think I used to be lower, but I'm really not sure). Can a side-effect like this take a little bit of time to notice?
While my pain is gone, I've started to have urgency on occasion and its been bad enough to the point where I feel as tho I'm getting awfully close to being incontinent. I'd only get urgency this bad if I was having an awful flare before, but now I don't have the pain that accompanies it. I know Elavil causes retention, so I'm wondering if this is maybe a symptom of worsening PFD? But this kind of urgency only started recently. (Note: I did notice I was straining on occasion and my dr said that elavil wouldn't cause that...)
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I'll give my dr a call once she gets back from vacation.
Thanks!
