View Full Version : Worst instead of better?

I had a hyrdodistension a few weeks ago and am having unusual results. After the surgery, I actually recovered quite quickly in a few days getting back to the state I was before (no worst/better). Then, about 5 or so days after that all the sudden my symptoms just took a nose dive of intensity. The condition I am in is absolutely unbearable. Has anyone else had an experience like this? What did you do? I have not responded well to any treatments and I'm still on the track of it could be months or years until something works (I know it's slow), but at the same time I feel it's unfair to be left like this. Any ideas?

I had my first one last Monday and it seems like I've gotten worse too. I just can't stop peeing. It sucks. And I'm not sure if my doctor is going to call and tell me the complete results or if I have to call her. Ugh.

I did well after the cysto/hydro at first too,but felt worse three days later. It turned out I developed a UTI from the procedure. I felt better after antibiotics. I would get a urine culture done.

I immediately thought of an infection when you described your situation. I would call your doctor and get a culture done, as the previous poster suggested.

After mine, for about three weeks I felt worse. I was voiding about 30 times a day, when frequency wasn't one of my worst symptoms before. Also, my pain levels went up to. I was miserable because at the time, I was so uneducated about IC that the impression I got from the doctor was that this procedure would make me better. If only it were that easy, huh? I'd still get checked for a UTI because that is possible too!
I was also going to suggest getting a urine culture to make sure you don't have an infection going on.
I hope you feel better soon.

It does sound like you may have an infection.

Well, I actually did have a urine culture and it came back negative :/ I suppose I could ask my dr. to put me on antibiotics anyways and see what he says. Ugh, it sucks that there's no answer going into exams. This ought to be interesting...

I realized I forgot to thank you guys for your help too! My Uro is convinced it's not a UTI, but I might try a second opinion :) He didn't seem to be willing to consider that it could be caused by something that wasn't showing up in the labs.

First of all, *hugs* and  for you to feel better. Second, listen to your body. I told everyone for 2 weeks it felt like I had a UTI and I cultured negative....then it turns out I have a massive kidney/UTI .... hmmm....according to my doc it developed in 48 hours but I don't buy it. Like so many women here have said, you live with your body every day --- don't believe anyone who says you don't know it.

I am so sorry you are feeling worse. I would ask your doc to give you some antibitoics, just incase you have some bacteria there that are hiding. I cannot really comment on the hydro, as I never had one and never will unless I am at my last rope and have tried absolutely every single thing out there that is left to try. I hope your bladder will recover soon.
