I just read about the Dasani water causing flares. Which is the best bottled water to drink since everything else is off limits? Any success stories with water?

You really have to read the labels. Some add chloride and other stuff for taste. I drink Arrowhead of Chrstal Geiger. I heard Evian was good but expensive. Distilled water is best for a flare.

I think that Dasani adds salts and other stuff for taste, which is why it might cause a flare for some. I haven't reallly tried any bottled water, but have also heard that Evian good.

This is a recent discovery for me, but I have found that I am not having as many flares since we got a Pur filter--there's quite a difference in taste between the filtered water and the tap water. I have been taking filtered water from home with me everywhere I go.

As far as expense goes the Pur faucet adaptor and a box of several (2? 3?) filters ran about $70 at Lowe's. I know there are cheaper faucet adaptors and filters, but we didn't want to skimp on the filters. In the long run I think it's cheaper than buying bottled water, considering how much water my husband and I both drink.

We did a huge taste test of bottled waters for our support group a few years ago. The favorites were the smaller labels... like Calistoga Spring Water. People did not like Perrier, etc.

My favorite sparkling water is San Pellegrino

I have been checking the acid in my water and my bottled spring water (Absopure) had the least acid, my tap water showed more acid and my water filtered through my Brita pitcher had the most acid of the three. It is helping my symptoms to alkalize the water I drink. My health food store had a bottle of drops for $30 but I chose to come home and try alfalfa tea (made from alfalfa tablets). I drink this with meals and sip on it throughout the day and evening. I also follow the IC diet closely.

Here is a link that may be useful. Most find a PH closest to 7 is best. Again this may vary from person to person. I like spring water the best.

I drink spring water in my area.... Not the bottled kind..... The spring water flows naturally here and it's hot!!! hot!!! hot!!!! lol.... Anyway..... I get a bunch of jugs..... go down town and fill them up with natural hot spring water....... . I was doing just fine drinking that water until I stop drinking it for a while for no reason......Grrrrrrr how stupid can I be lol..... Soon as I stop drinking it I started having flares again.... I was burning so bad last night I drinked some spring water and it stopped..... My grandparents never drinked tap water.... They would go down town and get spring water..... They were in such good health too...... Lots of people from all over the world come here and get spring water.... I can get it in bottled water but I don't like it like that. Lots of kids and adults go down town and sit in the spring water.... Some is hot and some warm..... I never step foot in the hot area lol. You can see the water flowing from above..... it look like a fountain with a waterfall..... It's really good for pain too.

Sleepy Angel,

My sister and brother-in-law live in Hot Springs. It's a great town. We always enjoy visiting them and hope to do so sometime this summer.

I have seen and had one of the famous baths and massages.

I've not had any of the water though. I'll try it when I'm there.
