Hi. I took 2 cranberry tablets yesterday afternoon.

And at around midnight, all of a sudden my bladder acted up and was hurting for a couple of hours.

Can it be because of the 2 cranberry tablets I took earlier in the afternoon?

Because it that's the case, I will stay away from cranberry from now on.

Cranberries can be a huge problem for an ICer. The tablets would not be good unless they have had the acid removed.

I still find it hard to believe that I drank litres of Cranberry Juice when I first started getting sick. And I was also taking the tablets too. All in the name of keeping UTIs at bay, hahaha! However, cranberries are bad news! I stay miles away from them in any form now!

Take care,
Ally

Cranberry supplements - yeeouch!
Very acidic. The one and only time I took them (at the highest recommended dose, because I couldn't choke down any more juice) I landed in the ER sweating and peeing blood.
Obviously way before I knew about a bladder-friendly diet!

My first IC symptoms came the morning after Thanksgiving '07--that's the morning after I ate heaps of my own fabulous fresh cranberry-orange salad, of course. Then I proceded to eat lots more of the leftovers, thinking I had a UTI and that the cranberry would help. Guess how much that didn't help.

If it says Cranberry it's wise to avoid it.

Stay away!
I wont eat or drink anything with cranberry in it. The pain it causes me is not worth it. People tell me all the time "oh you should drink cranberry juice, it will help with your IC" I hate hearing that! They have no idea what it does to all us IC sufferers.
