I just started on lyrica this week and it seems to be helping some things, but I have also been having a lot of ureathra pain (which is where most of my pain is) and burning when I pee - I hope this is just a coincidence and not from the lyrica. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks, Montie

I was actually put on Lyrica for my Urethra/Vulva Pain and ended up having other benefits from it. But It also help with the Urethra Pain..

I would not give up on it yet.. Are you drinking plenty of water to keep your urine diluted? I know if I do not drink enough water during the day I usually have some burning issues..

Oh that is good to hear, I would be so grateful if I could get rid of the burning and urethra pain. I do drink a lot of water but maybe Im just having a flare and need to drink more. I intend to keep on taking the lyrica - it has already helped me feel better in other ways.

Thank you, Montie

Well that is good you are drinking enough water!

Also if things do not get better make sure you do not have an infection brewing...

Did the lyrica start working right away for your urethra and vulva pain?

Actually I noticed it was helping my bladder first!! It took a few weeks for it to start helping the Urethra and Vulva area.

Maybe they need to increase my lyica because it has not helped my urethra pain and burning. I just dont understand how my urehtra can hurt so bad if I dont have and infection. Sitting on a frozen water bottle sounds great, I sit behind a desk 8 hrs a day. I do have a IC cushion but its not that much help. I will try the baking soda tonight when I get home. Im willing to try anything for releif.

I didn't have burning but it did take a while for the Lyrica to even help with my bladder pain. I didn't feel any significant relief until I was to 150 mg a day, starting at 50 and working my way up so it is possible you need to go on higher dose. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for all the good advice. I do have a doctors appt. with my pain doctor soon, this will be my second appt. w/him. I really envey everyone's positive attitude. I get bumed out a lot and real cranky when Im in a lot of pain. This condition just zaps me and I just am having a hard time keeping up w/everyday life, I know there are many that have it worse than me.

Thanks again, Montie
