I drink lots of milk (1% organic lactose-free) and wonder if it gives anyone else trouble. I wonder because I went away for a few days and drank no milk at all and ate a lot of different things and was almost asymptomatic (I have Hunner's ulcers and urgency and frequency and no pain). Would appreciate any thoughts from the group. Thanks in advance. Ratchada

One thing you might try is to skip the milk for a bit longer --- then on a day when you are feeling good, try just a little bit. Some people, not just those with IC, can't tolerate milk at all.

If milk bothers your IC it is probably because you are lactose intollerant.....you can be without knowing it and if you not milk would most likely help you.

You could try to see if taking lactose or another product for people that are lactose intollerant and see if that changes things.

I would die if I had to take all dairy out of my diet so I hope you are not so bad that lactose doesn't solve the problem.

Donna's advise is good too to find out if milk is the sourse.

I can drink milk without any problems. Sometimes I put some almond milk in with the regular milk for a treat. The almond milk is way too sweet for me to drink by itself, but add a little to regular milk and it's a nice treat.

I have one milk product at each meal because it alkalizes my urine.

I never had a problem with milk, even when my IC was mild. But, once my IC got worse I could not tolerate milk at all for years, about 5 or 6 years to be exact. Now, I can enjoy some milk with cereal, but that's about it for me.
