Dasani Water

Good grief.... I drank some Dasani water today and about 20 minutes later I went into major flare mode. That was 5 hours ago and I am still in pain, although I am now peeing every 30 min instead of every 5 minutes. Normally I do not drink this, but it was the only thing available at a long meeting I was involved in. The ingredients say they ADD magnesium sulfate and potassium chloride. Anybody else have this problem ever, and do you think it could be these additives??

I am livid because I just finished with a flare and had been feeling great until I drank this dumb water.

Worst thing, I have a DMSO tomorrow... I hate having DMSOs when I am already flaring. I hope it quits before then....

Wow Jen, Just wanted to say hope your flare ends soon . The Dasani water is the only water I can drink.
Crazy IC :loco: so diffrent for all of us.

I can't drink Dasani water. I've tried several times when I was stuck somewhere and it was the only thing available. I definitely won't ever do it again.

Same thing happen to me over the summer. I was at a beach resort in Mexico and that was the only bottled water they had to offer and I was peeing the whole time I was there it was awful.

When I got back from the resort I went to my Uro and said I have a infection or a flare she check urine and said no infection she then asked me well what have you been eating or drinking diffrent and I said I am always aware of my diet but then I rememberd all the Dasani water and bingo that is what was causing all this peeing?

I told the Dr jokingly "Hey dr I think this time it would have been better to drink the water in Mexico"

HI Jen! Sorry to hear about your flare. I can only drink a certain brand of water and the same thing happens. In a crisis, if I have to drink different water, I'll take some prelief beforehand, and then hope for the best. I picked up a different brand once a month ago - and boy did I ever pay. It's amazing how one bottle of water can make such a difference.

Hi all... thanks for the responses. I'm okay now, but now I know... no Dasani for me!!

It's amazing how one little thing like that can set off IC symptoms!! :rolleyes:

I'm glad the flare is gone. Let us know how the DMSO went today. Isn't this the last one for awhile? :)

Hey Sharon... yep, today is my 6th DMSO (it's later in the afternoon), and then I get a break. YAY!!!! :thumbsup:

I'll talk to the uro today as well and see what he suggests I do now.
