Hi! :hi: I realize this is an older post but....

I was diagnosed with IC back in 2003. My story is long, but mine is severe and I was on disability for two years I was so sick. :(

This past April I had a week where I craved salads like crazy! At the end of the week, I felt so good I thought about what I had NOT eaten all week? Bread, of any kind. I went to a festival and didn't have to use the bathroom for over 5 hours! It was crazy! I decided to do a test drive and eat an English muffin. The next day, I was so sick I couldn't work. My belly swelled, the bladder pain and frequency were back, I had horrible brain-fog.

I went to a gastroentologist and tested positive for the Celiac gene. I had and Endoscopy and I was born with Celiac's. I definitely still have the IC, so I have both. It's really challenging eating IC-friendly AND gluten-free! I'm still learning. But, I had a two month complete remission when I was first gluten-free. I'm having alot more pain free days off the gluten. The docs cannot tell me if my bladder will ever heal, but it's not being aggravated as much. I'm still having occasional bladder infections though. But to have any pain-free days is a miracle for me.

I'm avoiding foods that inflame in general. There is a book called "Empowering Your Health" by Dr. Asa which talks about avoiding foods that inflame the body. I highly recommend it.

I'd love to trade tips with others who have IC as well as gluten intolerance or Celiac's. :smile tee
