I know I've been depressed, but the other day I looked at the bowl of my husband's grapefruits and burst into tears. IC is starting to wear me out. I've decided that I would like to go on an antidepressant. In the past I was on Celexa (hated it) and Lexapro (worked for anxiety but knocked me out.)

I do not have problems falling asleep and although I get up to pee a couple of times a night I fall right back asleep. I don't want anything that makes me drowsy and I think that I am more depressed than anxious right now. I currently am into my 4th month on Elmiron. Although my flares seem not so severe as before, I still rely on Urelle as needed. I am also on Toprol for blood pressure.

My doctor agrees that Prozac would be a good drug to try, but says it has an interaction with Urelle. I looked it up, and specifically it's the phenylsalycilate in Urelle that's the problem. So I could possibly get a script for Hyoscyamine, the anti-spasmodic ingredient in Urelle and see if that helps enough. I'm not prone to UTIs so perhaps I can live without the antiseptic components.

Wellbutrin seems like an alternative that might be good for me, but I looked that up and find that it has an interaction with the Toprol.

Is anyone else on an antidepressant and using Urelle as well? What other antidepressant options are there?
