Well, I have my appointment for the cysto and I think I will be on my period on that day. Do you guys think that's a reason to cancel and wait a couple of weeks?
I could wear a tampon, but then I wonder if it would cause an unnecessary bulge or something in my urethra-- it just doesn't seem like a good idea to have a tampon in during a cysto.

I suggest you talk with your doctor's office to find out if they think it would be better to change the appointment. I think if it were me, I'd probably change the appointment unless it takes weeks and weeks to get another one.

The drs don't normally care...it is the patients that are more worried about it. I know in the past I just let the drs know and they made sure the tampon was removed before surgery or if I had a pad on then they just put down a pad on the table. They are used of seeing blood. If it bothers you then cancel so you are more comfortable!
Good luck!

Thanks for replying. I went ahead and cancelled-- I decided that I wasn't comfortable with dealing with hassles of the period plus cysto. Plus, I'm pretty easily embarrassed.

I hope you rescheduled the appointment.
