Hello,

Could anyone suggest a good book on buying for relaxing pelvic floor muscles especially for IC patients.

Most items I buy online are expensive due to postal costs to Australia, so any good books or tips would be appreciated.

It seems that my pelvic floor muscles are always tensed up not helping the situation.

Hi
I hear you but very sorry I don't have any books or self help tips to provide other than using cold packs or heating pad! one, the other, or both work very well for many of us!
Lidocaine gel and/or patches possibly something to discuss with you DR(S).
Also low dose valium (2mg up to 3xday as needed) was extremely helpful for me in getting symptoms of PFD under control, as well as vagina dilators...if you pm me I can let you know site that sells the dilators very inexpensively and they also provide much support thru literature and and their webisite....

I just oredered Heal Pelvic Pain By Amy Stein. She gives you two routines one for when your in pain and one for when your ready to strengthen your pelvic floor. I think it was a worthwhile buy --I know many of the routines mirror what my own PT has me doing. Good Luck -Jaisa:)

Hi,
I agree. The book by the Physical Therapist is an excellent book. Like the post above says it mimicks what I learned in therapy

A Headache in the Pelvis is also a good one. I'm waiting for my copy of Amy Stein's book.

Heal Pelvic Pain By Amy Stein is a good book and I purchasede mine from Australian online Bookstore. This is a very good site and makes the books much cheaper than purchasing them from the states. Good luck with this. Gloria
