I've seen IC tummy mentioned on other threads but not sure what it is.
My tummy distends sometimes. Could this be from IC?
I am still new (diagnosed in January) and am still learning.
This forum is great

Thanks,
Carin

Bloated IC belly not uncommon wth IC!!! I am size 5/6 but with IC belly at times have been accused of being 6 or more months pregnant!!! lol
What to do to treat it, nothing has been successful for me but some who use Atarax to help with their IC symptoms have mentioned some relief from IC belly with that antihistamine, not many, but a few. I don't get it very often anymore and never as bad as the frst 12-18 months wth symptoms....at that time it was REALLY bad. ANyway, for symptom relief for IC belly I often use cold packs of frozen peas or other veggies or a very cold can of soda....as IC belly most likely inflammation related cold therapy seems to work best for me, heating pad not.Hope you feel better soon.
:hi: and welcome to ICN!:)

I have IC belly a lot, since all of this started for me last July. There was a time where there were no pants that I could actually get into that didn't have elastic through the waist!

I started on Cystoprotek in mid-February, and I really think this has helped a lot with the swelling/IC belly problems. It has antihistamine properties like the medications that are often used, but it's a supplement. I've also read that a lot of people had their worst swelling problems in the beginning, so I'm hopeful that will be the case for me too.

I know this is a frustrating disease- so hard to figure out. It seems more than anything that it is just trial-and-error and learning what works for you. Here's to wishing all of us flat bellies in the future :smile tee

in my experience the big bloating (pregnant like!) has been always a GI symptom, but somehow related to my IC; pelvis would be particularly inflamed and tender.

I recently discovered food allergies, avoiding those foods is bringing my tummy down (yay) and also the excess of water that is part of the problem.

I don't know for you, but my belly has always been at its worst just after the ovulation had started.

Best of luck to all!

My distended tummy is likely from IC. Bloats like I'm pregnant.

The past week or so, I've had tenderness around my belly button and it's red, irritated, and sometimes has a clear smelly discharge.
My primary is away but yesterday I saw a doctor in the same office who's not familiar with my IC problems.

After just feeling around my naval, she asked if I've had any recent bladder problems. She said it might be a fistula, ordered an abdominal scan, and suggested I call my urogynecologist today.

Has anyone experienced this?
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Carin
