Does anyone else feel like there urethra is irritated, itchy, heavy, or like a deep burning. It doesn't burn when I pee, my urethra just fells irritated all the time. It's a really odd feeling and hard to explain. I have Vulvodynia so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

Also, sometimes I feel like my urethra is what causes my urgency & frequency not my bladder. Does anyone else have these problems?

Hey gr24,

No, I have never experienced urethral burning, pain or discomfort of any kind. But, I also do not have Vulvodynia, so maybe that does have something to do with it.

I am sure others will chime in soon who can better relate to your symptoms!

Take care,
~Beth

I have had a lot of urethral "pinching" ....not so much any more but for years before I was diagnosed.

Last time I saw the dr she said my urethra looked really irritated. She knows of my IC symptoms and suggested using some Calendula homeopathic ointment. The brand is "Hyland's" and and I bought it at a health food store. I've been just rubbing a little on my urethra area every morning, night, an any other chance I get. It seems to be helping my pain somewhat. This is what the bottle says if you are interested, it's worth a try and only cost about $11 or so.

Hyland's homeopathic Calendula Off. 1x Minor skin irritations homeopathic ointment. Directions: Wash affected rea with lukewarm water and apply freely as needed o as recommended by a licensed health care provider.

Indications: For the temporary relief of skin irritations due to sunburn, windburn and chafing or diaper rash. Promotes healing of minor cuts and abrasions of the skin. Contains: a 10% extract o Calendula flowers (Marigold), HPUS in a base of Petrolatum USP with 5% Lanolin USP.

For what it's worth, it does give me some relief. Something is better than nothing and it was recommended to me by a mid-wife. Give it a try!

It's not unusual to have irritation that feels like it's all urethra.
