Hi there,
I had my 3rd cysto/hydro this past Friday but boy do I feel completely different. The first two sucked afterwards because I had the awful urge to go to the bathroom but couldn't. That only lasted a few days and then I just waited to see if I would get better. Both times I had some success. The first, 5 mo's and the 2nd one about a year or so on and off. Anyway, I went in Friday and this time they told me they were going to biopsy me as well. I thought nothing of it.
When I woke up this time I had that urge but it was actually bearable. I was pretty nausiated though and that was unusual because the first 2 I was absolutely fine. However, after I was home for an hour or so, the pain in my lower abdomen started and increasing became worse. I was also going to the bathroom but all I seemed to be urinating was blood. Needless to say, I was scared and felt so bad. On top of that, I started throwing up from the anesthesia.
I called the my doctor and asked if this was normal. She didn't give me the secure feeling that it was but I just dealt with the pain and the bleeding. I called the urologist on call that night to get a different opinion as well. I found out what I was going through was pretty normal after a biopsy. Also, the fact that I was in flare mode prior to the surgery probably had something to do with it as well. The pain finally subsided and now all I have is bladder pain that is easier to deal with. I also stopped bleeding after about 40 hours and stopped throwing up yesterday. My question to you guys out there is, have any of you had biopsies with your hydro? Did it knock you out for longer? I have been running a low grade temperature and just can't get up and out yet. My DR ****** me off because she should have forewarned me that I might feel alot worse this time. My doctor is very "well regarded" and most have you probably have heard of her but she has no bedside manner and it STINKS. I am just looking for other people with similar stories, people who can give some sort of advice as to when I might feel better.
Thanks for listening.
