I was a breeze compared to last time. I went in at 8am, took me back to or by 9am and was home by 12:)
Ur said everything looked good, infact my pictures showed the IC was better this time than the last one I had.
Soooooooo doc does not know what my severe pain is coming from.
Great here we go again!!!
Anyone think it could scar tissue from hysterectomy from 2 years ago? I was just so sure it was IC flare up.

Denise,
I just read your post after the cysto/hydro was done--didn't see your post before the procedure, but I'm so glad everything went well for you and that your bladder has improved. God is good! I hope you can find out soon what is causing your pain. Just keep praying  and I'm sure God will help you find the answer!
Hugs & blessings to you-

Hello.I am scheduled April 15th. I have never had this procedure before......what should I expect. Exactly what takes place?
I have heard so many different stories that I am really worried.
Any suggestions would be so appreciated.
Thank you

You are having the surgery on April 15th? As if tax day was not stressful enough.
Let me take you from beginning to the end of my day yesterday. Believe me, this time was breeze compared to the last time I had this procedure. (2 1/2 years ago)
I went to the out patient surgical center at 8am (that in its self unnerves you) So I felt like I had to pee really bad the whole time I was waiting. You will change into one of those 'lovely' hospital gowns, hold on to the back!!
Then the nurse takes vitals, starts and IV and you wait........
The anathesialogist (sp?) comes to talk to you, I had to tell him I get very sick when being put to sleep. But they have stuff now they can put in your IV to help with that. Like I said this one was much easier.
After peeing 2 more times my ur comes and briefly describes what he will be doing. Taking pictures of the inside of the bladder, filling it up to capacity and then when it drains, he takes another picture to see how bad the IC is. My ur also put in some meds into the bladder. My pictures this time looked great compared to before.
I walked to the operating room, the nurse will put that nice warm blanket on you and off to sleep. You will not know anything or remember anything.
They had to put a tube down my throat because I have acid reflux so bad, so I woke up coughing me head off. The nurse gave me ginger ale, crackers. The first time you have to go pee is alittle burning, (not to bad for me this time) but just be prepared you will feel like you are full and have to go so bad but you can't pee much. I got to leave at 11:45 came home and took naps but I felt great when I got home. This morning I could hardly move but it was because I was so sore from coughing. My throat is scratchy and I have to hold a pillow to cough!!! Shows how out of shape I am in)
As long as you take the meds prydium or urimax, it won't hurt to bad to pee. I also had a prescription for antibiotic and pain.
Does that help alittle so you want worry?
You will do fine. It is just the waiting that is going to be hard. Have you been diagnosed with IC or will this procedure tell whether you have it or not.
Keep us posted:grouphug: sending you a hug

Denise....bless your heart for replying so quick.
You have calmed me dear.......thank you for taking the time to share your story with me.
I sure am hoping the dr's will be able to determine if I have IC or not.
I am up every hour to pee at night...can this procedure help with the all night stuff? I have not had a good night's sleep in probably 2 years. Did you or do you get up alot during the night?
I am new to this website so I hope this gets back so you can read it.
Blessings to you.......Anita

Yes before I was diagnosed, I did get up 7 to 10 times a night. I was working and getting very depressed. You can not survive with sleep deprivation. I had a talk with my family dr (which is a wonderful lady) and she gave me some ambian to help me sleep. When I went to the ur and after my 1st diagnosis he put me on the ditropan and gave me valuim to take at night. Before I would get so nervous just trying to fall asleep, that I would put my bladder into a spasm, then I would get up every few minutes. (with the feeling "I gotta go") it was awfull.
I get up now a couple of times but can go right back to sleep.
UNLESS I have gone off the diet for the day, then I am up every two hours.
So as hard as it is stick with the diet and drink lots of water it will help.

:) Hang in there Denise
