I haven't written in a few weeks. My life seems to be going down the toilet right now. I am however starting to get over my HORRIBLE flare though. What happened is I got the depo shot and it immediately caused the worst flare I have ever had. I was hospitalized and when I got out I went to my GYN. He said that he has never heard of the depo or even birth control causing pain and he cannot help me. I cried because I just knew that he would have the answer for me and it would be something he could fix. I've never felt so hopeless in my life. I lost my job because of the economic cut backs, but I think it may have been a blessing in disguise because I've had time to rest and take it easy so I could get better. I can't go to the Dr. again until the COBRA kicks in (UGH!!!!) :bonk:but when I can I'll start going to a pain management specialist because my primary Dr. said that my pain was too much for him to handle and he couldn't help me anymore. I also had to stop doing the instills because they were just making me SOO much worse. I'm so ready to just give up on doctors and try a "natural remedy" or something. I just wanted to update everyone since the last post was when I was in the bad flare. Thank you

I am so sorry that you are going through so much at once. When I was layed off two years ago, I had no interuption of health insurance when I switched to Cobra. You may still be covered for your dr.'s appts. I hope you keep feeling better & better!

I've called but the coverage doesn't start until 2 to 3 weeks after they recieve the first payment. I just sent off $798  so it will start back up in a few weeks. I could pay out of pocket now and then they will reimburse me but I just don't have the money. Thanks!

I'm actually almost back to normal so hopefully not too much longer!:woohoo:

Hi Sami,

I'm glad to hear from you after these few weeks, and very glad to hear your symptoms are retreating. If you are stopping the instills, which seems like a good idea considering the effects they were having, are you on any other treatment for IC, besides using pain meds? I know you were on the IC diet. Are you still sticking to it and do you think it's partly why you are feeling better? It really can take a while to be effective. Hang in there, and I hope you can get to a pain doc soon.

I am also on Lyrica, Elavil, Elmiron, and hydroxyzine. I've been sticking to the diet pretty strictly but I was doing that before. I really don't know why it's going away but definitely not complaining! :smile tee I'm going to talk to my Uro about the instills, I don't know if it was making it so much worse just when I was in the bad flare or not. Honestly, I'm just too scared to try it again right now. I've been having some decent days and I don't want to throw myself back into a flare.
