I am going to a new doctor here (my Uro wants to send me to someone else as I am pretty much at the end of my rope/medication treatments). I have a name that I "picked" out of BCBS list. This doctor comes highly recommended from both my regular Uro and cardiologist office.
Her name is Melanie Denison with the "Urology Team" they have offices both in Round Rock and Austin.
Let me know what you think if you go to her.
Thanks.

Hi Mary - I have been a patient of Dr. Denson's for almost two years now. I was referred to her when I developed a urethral diverticulum last year that resulted in surgical removal. She has been with me throughout my IC journey and has been absolutely wonderful. She has a great bedside manner and is willing to work with you to do whatever it takes to improve your quality of life. She has always referred to our relationship as a partnership and tells me that I am my own best advocate for my care. I can't recommend her highly enough. Her support staff is great. The only drawback - she is booked, booked, booked. It's easier now to get appts in the new Round Rock office. My advice - always call to check on cancellations - they are always happy to fit you in.
Good luck!!:smile tee

Thanks! I know she is booked for at least 6 weeks out! When I first tried for an appointment they (appt. desk) wouldn't even talk to me till they received my referral- Now I know you have to have one, but even after my fam.doctor faxed and even call to make sure they received it I was told that "it had to be in the computer system before I am able to make one) this little delay of about a week - I went from an Mid-April to early May for my appointment.
My regular Uro wanted me to go to another doctor out in RR but I went to him before and his "bedside manner' didn't impress me at all) i have a heart valve replaced and I am considered high risk by a lot of doctors and they don't want to treat me-- told me to either go back to my regular Uro, pain management doctor or family doctor; meanwhile this doctor after he said this he told me to come back in a year or sooner if I need to --now my question is why would I want to go back to this doctor with an attitude like that?? I will however recommend him to other people as he does know what he is doing.
Thanks again.
