Hi,

Okay I've been posting here the last few days alot because my symptoms are getting worse. I have been eating very good for a week now (the only thing I had that was a maybe was bread with soy lecithin) because I was starting the elimination diet. I had my first bladder installaion on Friday which just made my symptoms worse. The bladder pressure was still there and my urethra burning went through the roof for days!

The bladder pressure has gotten so bad now and is just getting worse. It feels like really bad gas or menstrual cramps. Since I was at the Dr. on Friday I know I don't have an infection. It seems like the only things I have been eating are bread and dairy for the most part.

Could this all be caused by easting so much dairy???
How do i know if it is a bladder spasm or bowel spasm?

I had raviolis with butter last night for dinner and an egg with cheese this morning for breakfast and I feel like I am going to explode!!!

Have you called the dr. who did your instill & told him/her of your increased symptoms? You may not have had an infection at the time of the instill, but you could have one now.

Also, I would check the ingredients in the raviolis, unless you made them from scratch. And was the cheese plain American? Again, I would call my dr. & tell him about the new symptoms.

Unfortunately my Dr. is on Vacation this week. I called yesterday to tell her about my pain from the instill and a nurse was supposed to call me back and never did. The bloating and pressure is really bad and has been getting worse for about two weeks now. I go to my gastro next Wednesday. but I still can't tell if it is from my bowels or my bladder. I don't know if they will be able to too.

Ack. I responded to you in the other thread about Heather Von. V.....holy geeeez I just read your meals....my belly would explode for sure! The butter, eggs, the cheeses in the ravioli and sandwich...all of those are triggers. Dairy and any type of fat can trigger and iBS epidsode.

Pasta is OK to eat with IBS, you just need to stabilize to get your gut to calm down. So plain pasta is your best bet. You can eat white breads. The more natural or organic the better, for both IC and IBS. If you got to heathers site she has a cheat sheet you can download and it can give you some ideas of what's safe to eat. :)

PS: Your bladder and bowels can feed off each others misery so, once one gets going the other can chime in....ugh.

Thanks,
I was trying to be soooo good with the IC diet I didn't think about how it would effect everything else. Beside bread and water I have no idea what I'm going to have for dinner tonight.

You could try white fish, chicken, egg whites, scrambled eggs (with more white to yolk ratio--but no whole eggs--yolks can be a trigger) with pasta, rice, and/or bread. Try sweet potatoes or plain mashed potatoes. A plain baked potato, or plain baked sweet potato. Or rice krispies with almond milk and bananas.

Also consider taking some OTC meds to help you thru this til your doc gets back. Why suffer if you don't have to. :)
